So many powerful artistic commentries. The delicate subject against the stone background. The flowers black in shadow over the fair arm, we can’t catch Fluer’s eyes, so we remain concerned about her statis. A photograph so full of art Deb it belongs in history. Love your work : )
Thank you so much Graham for your lovely comment, it’s so lovely that you have read and seen so much :) I always appreciate it.
this is really great Deb…I love to dark intensity of this …kudos on getting here to staying still must of felt like a lifetime for here lol….Steve
she is well trained Steve lol!! Over a year of large format work with her and she knows exactly what to do, she is brilliant and my inspiration :) Many thanks for your kind words.
great that you are keeping the art alive, love to see it in the hand. M
you can do Marshall, if you are ever in Allendale I now have a studio there .. Allendale Forge Studios .. I am there during the week (school time) and occasionally weekends .. have a lot of wet plates out on display .. would be lovely to see you .. and thanks for the comment, hope you are well :)
I knew it wouldn’t take you long before you got your wet plate portrait Deb. Worth it as well and this must bring you as much personal joy as many of the others beforehand. As you say, so much has happened since Carousel Days. It’s been interesting watching the journey (so far) and this will be one of the defining points for turn and change I feel (if you get what I mean).
I know exactly what you mean. I never thought that photography would become so big a part of my life in the way it has .. I am completely obsessed lol!! But most importantly I am enjoying the ride .. really pleased you like this .. I think they are photographer/artist portraits .. not everyone likes them, but photographers generally do because they are fascinated by the history of it all. Hope you are keeping well .. are the bluebells out yet?
Wonderful photography! I looked at the web link in your narrative – so interesting for someone like me who has only ever used digi photography – your work is beautiful.
Thanks so much for taking the time to look at the link … it’s nice when someone else is introduced to the process … and thanks to for the lovely comment :)
