Won’t be keeping this up, but wanted to share another experiment with fuji instant film. This was taken on my hasselblad with a polariod back .. the image is the size of a 6×6 neg. It looks much better in the flesh so to speak .. not a great scan. It is really small and looks lovely … I think it will be great for making a family album :)
I thought it might be of interest to the groups I belong too :)
Oh Deb this is lovely… quite candid looking, and as you said a nice addition to the family album! I love the results you’re getting from hasselblad – WONDERFUL!
Thanks so much Karen … I think this film is going to make me lazy though lol!! It is so addictive. I have 4 rolls of film that need developing and all the chemicals are out ready to be made up since yesterday … with this I just peel it apart and the magic appears .. it’s brilliant .. will develop today though :)
I think it’s a great shame that we don’t feel comfortable taking shots like these anymore because of the thought police and the bad guys. some of the greatest shots ever taken are of children, in an age when it wasn’t seen as something bad people did. But on the other hand it’s understandable I think it’s a wonderful photo to have when she’s 21 and too cool for school she’ll be very grateful to have such a cool shot of herself
nice work
Thanks so much rory for your really thoughtful and thought-provoking comment … I hadn’t really thought of this to be honest because this is just an honest shot … this is how she is. In fact this is toned down lol!! She isn’t provocative she is playful and confindent :) I agree with you whole-heartedly … such a shame. I think it says more about the viewer than the picture taker :) Thanks again.

Oh my – this is just great Deb. It reminds me of the little one here. So much attitude and character shining out. Lighting and contrasts are faultless as always.
LOL!! Jul, that is it exactly … attitude and I love every bit of it :) Thanks so much for you lovely comment :)
Just loving the processes that you are going through to achieve this Deb. It must be so rewarding having to do all the work to get the results like this. A real labour of love, and when you capture the spirit and essence of childhood at the same time it must be even further rewarding.
Cheers Stuart. I think I am making it sound too easy :) Yesterday I had the most frustrating day with my large format … I used a whole box of film and didn’t get anything. I kept getting streaks here there and everywhere … then they got jammed, then fogged .. it was a bloody nightmare. I couldn’t work out why it was going wrong .. so took camera apart, shone torch into bellow .. lovely holes … massive light leakage .. now I like a bit but this was worse. The more I moved the bellows the bigger the problem … so now bellows are stuck together with electrical tape lol!! On top of that I got a beautiful shot of Fleur but is is totally unusable … maybe I should post them to show how crap I really am lol!! Thanks for the comment .. lovely as always.
oh, so lovely! Kids are such fun! We recently upgraded our camcorder after being without one for 2 yrs…… this reminds me of all the fun things they do the moment you produce one of those!
Absolutely … they are born performers lol!! Of course now they are getting bigger as is the camera and I can’t run around after them, the bribes are getting bigger too lol!! Thanks for the comment … happy filming :)
You should keep it up, the art and the on camera prescence are superb. When I logged on just now and saw this I lit up. It’s delightful Deb : )
Thanks Graham .. so pleased you like it .. have to admit I was nicely surprised at how the light jumped out .. it’s like this in print too .. the other lovely thing about the instant film is the uniqueness of it .. the one off … yes, I can scan it and reproduce it but there is only this one original :)
