Nothing much

I have now been with Red Bubble an amazing two weeks and it has been fantastic – a very liberating experience. I have never ‘exposed’ myself in this way and here I am writing in a journal that the whole world has potential access to. As it is my first I am going to keep it as short as possible and let you into my life over the two weeks I have been with RB.

It’s funny really because day to day as a mother/housewife I don’t really think much has happened as I grind through my daily routine of school runs, college and housework. But then I take photos and I write a journal and bit by bit I see minor (sometimes major) little miracles happen. So in the last two weeks my little nephew Oscar has a heart bypass and a patch put on a hole in his heart and has made a miraculous recovery. Another big thing to happen is my amazing mother-in-law started her chemo treatment yesterday (it’s her third time with breast cancer within 13 years) and she is also an amazing person – unbelievably positive and an inspiration.

Smaller things include my son seeing a Giraffe for the first time but seemed more impressed with the meerkats popping up and down. I took my two year old daughter on the train for the first time (I’m ashamed to admit) and she had a ball. My son finished his first year at school and cried when he realised he wouldn’t have his teacher in year one – he seemed so vulnerable.

Anyway, I won’t go on and on but this is a little glimpse into my life – very ordinary but surrounded by extraodinary people.

Hi Deb, there’s a lot of “awww” moments in here…thanks so much for sharing these precious snippets of your life with us :-)
You shouldn’t feel bad for your daughter being two before she had her first train ride…the nearest passenger train to me is over two hours away, so in my district there would be very few children to have ridden a train by that age! How sweet that your son loved his teacher so much and had such a wonderful first year of school…what a blessing that he got off to a good start!
I’m sorry to hear about your nephew and your mother-in-law. You seem to have a close, loving relationship with both of them and I’m sure you’ll be a source of comfort to your whole family.
I’m loving your photos, and I can see that having a creative outlet like this gives you something positive to focus on (other than your gorgeous kids!) when things might otherwise get you down.
    Stay happy and be blessed..

Thanks Ange I always look forward and appreciate you input – you are really being an inspiration to me. When I think I am busy then I just say ‘Ange has four children’ and I think I have it easy. I love my life – I think I am really blessed and it is so good to be able to share it with you in this way. When I open up RB in the morning it is like looking at a newspaper of positive experince – it’s so educational too to see how people live and how they see the world. I had to laugh when you said that a passenger train is two hours away – when I moved to Northumberland two years age I felt I had moved to ends of the earth – it felt so remote after living near London for so many years. It’s wonderful though, we have beautiful beaches and countryside and a city is only half hour away. Anyway she look forward to seeing more of your beautiful work and comments – probably as I am about to go to bed and you are getting up.

I agree – i think we seem to have a lot in common and I will definitely drop you an email – hopefully with not too many typing errors – I am dreadful for it as I am always doing about three things at once.

Hi Deborah, thanks for the positive comments on my work, this is my second day on redbubble and this is a new venture for me so Iam not sure what to expect, looking at your work I would’nt worry about your ability or confidence you are very natural in what you do, your work is excellent, this all came about for me when a local resturant asked to see some of my work, she liked my images and to cut a long story short I now display on her wall’s I have sold three pictures in two weeks which is a total shock you should do the same if you are’nt already.thank’s once again and stay in touch.

    Deborah,
I wanted to say thank you for the comments…they mean a lot to me. Being on redbubble is the first time I have actually gotten to show others my work so I am happy that you like it.

Thanks for your kind comments on my images, totally agree with your sentiments about exposing your work to the world, it’s nervewracking to say the least. Love your portraits,
