Gorgeous light and textures as usual Debs and wonderful composition! I feel like i know every inch of this abbey through your wonderful photos. The subject reminds me of a conversation I had with Grace today that went like this…...

ME…..Look at the way the light is causing that shadow over there….look at the way the light is twinkling on the water….look how its bringing out the texture of the bark on that tree. Isn’t this place fascinating to look at and be in?

GRACE (with finger up nose)........ come on hurry up dad…I want to ride my scooter. Which shop are you getting my ice-cream from? When are we going home?

    End of conversation…....

I ask you….the youth of today!

Gee, this is a strong one. A picture that stands as solid as a rock. Beautiful how those corridors and windows are placed in a row and literally throw in the light. Architects of those religious buildings didn’t design on human scale, like nowadays. They wanted to show people how small they are compared to God. They succeeded in that and your sharp observation proves that. Beautiful places to be for a while, but not at all cozy or comfy. The rhythm of the dark and light is so facinating that one could easily miss the main character of this image. Walking through the puddles and the darkness like the hero in a Philip Marlow detective. A hero he is. Brave in a tough world. I could live in a place like this, as long as it had double glazing, good heating, superb lightning design, television, stereo, jaccuzi and internet. Great work again, Deborah.

Deb, I saw this last night and wanted to comment, but I was having trouble with my keyboard.. it just would go where my fingers wanted it to… or was that becuse I had had one too many?
