FOR ANDREW WALKER

This is my attempt at colour (yes i know it is dark and ironically i thought i would shoot a couple of shots in colours too) – but it is for Andrew Walker who thinks that my family is painted in black and white LOL!!!! If you have no idea what i am talking about then read his superb soap bubble.

This is great, Deb. You’re right – it’s colour…but it’s still dark. I love how you have managed to keep the detail – the bit of light on her back is great – love the texture of the wall and the blackness she is entering. Just gorgeous processing.

now are you sure deborah, you haven’t just been playing with photoshop and made her clothes colourful? :-)
I like this on so many levels, leaves me wondering… are you having a blackout…. I bet if we could see her face it would still be ghostly white and finally oh my god you are forcing them all to live in the cellar (sorry couldn’t resist)
    BTW, beautiful (as always deb)

Lol I came to this page and did a double take! Then I wondered if this was a black and white that you tinted after the fact. :P I’m just teasing, of course. This is gorgeous, and every bit as magical as your black and white work. :)

I love your usual dark tones and the lighting and contrasts are both wonderful. I love how this tells a story in your mind too. Not much colour.. but just enough! Perfect!

Ow! Tese bright colors are burning my eyes. whoever you are, you untie Ms. Parkin and give her back her laptop. She’s got some black and white photos to process. Plus, she has to catch up on her supportive, insightful comments on every single photo that’s uploaded to redbubble. Do you have any idea how many people rely on her? I gotta tell you, though, if you were Deb, I’d suggest you throw in some color – from time to time, don’t go nuts – because you’re really good at it, and you somehow captured the unique Parkin style…...nice going, whoever you are…..

If they can colourize the Three Stooges, you can colourize your family. I’m not sure I’m convinced yet.
Really though, it’s a great image and I’d love to see you do some more exploration with colour.

another great piece. I share your like for the darker side of art with just the right amount of light for the viewer to visualise what they think they see :) I havent done much in this way but am looking at some to do in the near future…its a unique way of presentation and i love it. well done on this one!!
