Beautiful work Deb. Thought provoking.
Deborah Parkin replied
Thanks so much Julie for your lovely comment – sorry I have missed your beautiful work lately – will try and catch up soon :)
Mark Hughes
Wow! this loooks great and I really like the treatment, it does have a rather sinister chily feel too….
Deborah Parkin replied
Thanks Mark for your really thoughtful comment – when I first scanned the neg and saw the body language and the blurred hand I felt it was a bit sinister too – thanks again :)
juha
noir et blanc superbe,bravo
Deborah Parkin replied
Thanks so much juha for your lovely comment :)
TFFDavid
Hiya Deborah,
What a fantastic photograph.
I hope to God the memory isn’t of you lying on the floor, broken in some way.
Deborah Parkin replied
Hi David lovely to hear from you – don’t worry, I was never this broken :) Hope you are well.
Shelly Hiebert

J.K. York
i agree with Shelly, a bit on the Creepy side, but creepy cool none the less. lovely focus point. and as usual your mastery of light and tones tells the story here. well done.
Deborah Parkin replied
Thanks so much James for your really thoughtful comment .. I agree it is a bit creepy – i think it is the blurring of her hand maybe?
J.K. York
i think its the combination of title and the fact that we don’t know what’s going on out of context. that’s what is great though. the viewer can go any way with this.
Deborah Parkin replied
Thanks James – it is always great to hear other peoples view – you always know what draws you to your own image but it is even more interesting to know why others are drawn to it :)
Stuart Chapman
Once again Mrs Parkin tugs at the memory strained (and the older you get the more strained it is!) heartfelt feelings. Is there anything worse than a broken toy as a child? Seeing your most treasured possesion become a semblance of what it once was, damaged beyond repair. You want it back – mum or dad will fix it won’t they? A new better one just won’t be the same.
p.s. cracking shot btw – sums up a feeling as always.
Deborah Parkin replied
Ah Mr Chapman – how lovely to hear from you and have one of your classic comments/essays lol!! Thanks so much – always love reading them. Hope all is good in your life :)

A magnificent work Deb. The movement in Fluer’s hand is the first thing that struck me, giving the narrative so many extra dimensions.
