woo hoo hoo!, I’ve got to take a longer look at this stunning work of art, but so far I love it.
Graham Dean
With child’s play, you’ve really challenged your audience, (me at least as one of) to keep up with your artistic commentary. Your light , and subjects are crafted as always so brilliantly to compliment that commentary.
But the added grit is something I wish I could aspire too.
Very inspirational contempory art Deb, You’re a star : )
Deborah Parkin replied
Thank you so much Graham – not sure how to follow that lol!! I think if I ever feel down I shall come back and read your encouragement – thanks as always :)
Susan Grissom
Deborah, this is fantastic. Love your subject and the light and shadow play. It also has a feeling of an Alfred Hitchcock movie.
Deborah Parkin replied
Thank you so much Susan – such a great comment. Please forgive the silence on the blog – I am half way done and really hope to have it finished by this week. It has really made me think in a way I actually hadn’t before.
Jeff Burns

micklyn
amazing the feeling that dolls can evoke, especially in b and w. great work.
Deborah Parkin replied
Thank you so much micklyn. This doll was mine as a little girl but sadly Fleur left it in the rain (without me knowing) and she is a bit rusty around the eyes lol!! But I agree, something very evocative about dolls.
Stuart Chapman
Excellent shot Deb, i’m just too freaked out that the thing’s going to come to life (seen too many chucky movies I guess) to look at it for too long. I find it quite eiree in that respect (everyone will take something different from a shot – such is the beauty of it)
Lisa Defazio
Love it!
Mel Brackstone
Dolls haven’t changed much, have they? Another beautiful black and white, Deb!
Ken Mucke
There is a true sense of loss and sadness to this image…the young girl sits and seems lost…and I know you ask..how do i know this from just her foot…but is the sense from teh dolls…they seem lost and alone and lonely…this was so well thought out and put together,,,you have a brilliant mind and eye..I am so excited as I watch you grow by leaps and bounds…What so may photographers don’t have that yu do have is the inner eye to the soul of what you photograph…You can not teach this..one either has it or not…and if one has it…you have always had it…but it just takes some of us years and years for it to show itself…You have the talent and passion to see the un seen…
Paul Tupman
As well as the feeling of moving on and disgarding the past there is also something a bit sinister about this piece, almost as if the dolls blank expression is a representation of the childs face.

This is a great black and white! It’s kinda creepy!
Deborah Parkin replied

Beautiful lighting, and wonderfully creative composition. But it’s the emotion you manage to capture in these marvelous black and white images that is so powerful. Just fabulous work.
