Mr Photogenic
Now for something a little bit different. This was part of my course at university – studio photography. This was taken with a Hasselblad 501cm medium format camera – with a flashring – developed in darkroom and scanned from the original print (my negs are still with lecturer).

forbidden teritory for me.studios, that is.however,i think any studio will welcome you with open arms.its so good to see that you are back where you belong.i can see and feel a lot of knowledge in this shot.your long nights of studying is busy paying off.congratulations deborah and welcome back
Deborah Parkin replied
lovely to hear from you Gideon and thank you for such a lovely comment .. I don’t think a studio is for me to be honest – too restrictive – I do, however, have a new admiration for those that do it so well :)
Hope you are well – are you off on your travels again soon?
Graham Dean
I imagine the artistic teamwork between you and the subject to create this one would have been fun Deb. It has fantastic character.
At the moment I feel like I’m at a Deborah Parkin exhibition with all these new and wonderful images. It’s a treat : )
Deborah Parkin replied
Ah thanks again Graham for your great comment. Gordon is a good friend of me and we had fun .. there were many of us fighting for him to be our model :)

i love how isolated the flash effect is. the spot light really brings out the structure of this man’s face dramatically. once again that 6×6 format is awesome. excellent use of negative space around subject. cheers!
Deborah Parkin replied
Thanks James for your great comment .. I really love this format too :)
Scott d'Almeida

Mel Brackstone
Bummer, shame about the copyright across his face on the large version, but still, I don’t blame you for using it….lol! The tones here are immaculate, Deb, LOVE what you do with monochromes…
