I can’t really explain why I wanted to post this. I just keep coming back to it. I think I like the grain and the timeless feel it has. This was taken on my Leica r3 – film scanned .. this is part of a body of work taken on a woodland walk.

I can fully understand what you see in this image Deb, it speaks of so many things that encompass childhood as the ideal we would like it to be for all children, full of wonderment, innocence and innate curiosity. Wonderful, and as you already mention, timeless!
Deborah Parkin replied
Thanks Marion for your lovely and thoughtful comment – such a pleasure to read :) Hope you are well.

Stuart Chapman
I think it opens up the really thoughtful and inqusitive side of childhood, where the will and desire to learn and discover is at its highest (and easiest as anyone trying to learn something new later in life will testify!)
You end uop lost in the image just trying to read her thoughts, wondering what she’s thinking with the slight wry smile that parents have that their children are seeking such joy in the most mundane and simple of objects.
Deborah Parkin replied
Oh Stuart – you always say the most perfect things – I am in awe of childhood curiosity – you wait until they are 7 and think you have the answers to everything and you are desperately trying not to disappoint them :)
Hope London isn’t too much of a drag for you.
Julie Langford
Brilliant as always Deb. So much life in this.
Deborah Parkin replied

Timeless is a label I’d put on all your work Deb, but especially apple. The background is as artistic as your very endearing subject. The clarity and detail makes the picture even more captivating. There’s lots you could say, but its just wonderful to be on the other side of the world and able to see your brilliant “clicks” : )
Deborah Parkin replied
Thanks Graham – I always look forward to your comments :) Such a thrill to think that someone from the other side of the world likes my work so much – hope you had a good weekend :)

Birgitta
This is a real WOWZER, Deb! My eye was immediately drawn in
by the vignetting, not only that but the balance of the exposure
even down to the well balanced lighting/exposure of her ring! It’s
the little things like that, that grab my attention and speak of your
skill. So much story here and a well done piece needs no words, such
as this. (It tells it’s own story.) I can add nothing “more” to this-
smiling & saying, simply: “bravo”. :)
Deborah Parkin replied
Oh Birgitta – you do make me smile :)
I love how you write in detail and I can’t thank you enough.
Hany Kamel

You kept coming back to it because it is an eloquent image. Children have this wonderful relationship with the physical world (we lose it as we get older) and that is what I sense here.
Deborah Parkin replied
Thanks again David – I think it was her inquisitive look that captivated me – I totally agree with what you have to say :)
PhotogeniquE IPA
