What an artist, or magician,” I just had this one hidden up my sleeve.” The depth you can venture into IWF is incredible. Coupled with all this technical brilliance is artistic beauty. The expression in the three simple silouhettes is delightful. Along with everyone else, I love it.

  • Deborah Parkin replied

As always Graham, you say the nicest things :) Lovely to hear from you .. hope you survived easter ok and will catch up soon.

  • david malcolmson

    david malcolmson

Quite wonderful. Why have you been hiding it from us? It is unashamedly romantic and none the worse for that. A great, well-balanced composition with a wealth of shades of grey.

  • Deborah Parkin replied

As always David you are spot on. When I had my interview he said two things about my work . One that it reminded him of Sally Mann and two that it was romantic (i don’t think that was meant has a positive though haha!). Thanks for the comment – great to hear from you.

  • Simon Gladwin

    Simon Gladwin

I’ve missed your photography Debs…...not seeing it for a while just reminds me about how good it is. Super use of light as always and I love the reflections in the wet sand. When I went to wells on Monday…and yes thats where i would have my gallery…or Padstow…..I had your work in my minds eye…the toned beach shot of Abe with his bucket especially…..I soooooo wanted a shot like this but the weather and light would just not play ball….maybe next time…..

  • Deborah Parkin replied

Oh Simon that is such a nice thing to say .. to be missed is very humbling (honest). I can really see you with your gallery by the beach .. never give up on this dream as it is achievable. We have just bought a caravan near Seahouses/Bamburgh – so lots of time on the beach with kids and my very old medium format camera (or large format if I can convince Geoff lol). I hope you are well .. hopefully we will meet up sooner rather than later.

Deborah I don’t like it I love it. so wonderfully dark and moody it’s like two lost souls walking home, it reminds me of the film The rabbit fence where three sisters walk the length of Australia.

  • Deborah Parkin replied

Thanks Marshall – such a lovely thing to say … I know the film you are talking about although I have never seen it … I think it seemed too sad (or maybe I am wrong) anyway, thank you :)
