Deborah,
I love this also. There is a famous photo journalist who created one very similar to this in the 1940s with his two small children. I believe he is best know for it. I believe his name is Eugene Smith. I will have to get back to you on it. You might want to look at some of his work. Much of yours has some of the same quality in lighting. Love the lighting in the last two pieces.. Beautiful.

Deboroh,
His name is W Eugene Smith. “Walk into Paridise Garden” 1946. He worked for Life Magazine. If you get an opportunity I think you will enjoy his work.

Deborah,
I just noticed your response about W. Eugene Smith. I’m glad you got to see his work. I am sure you hadn’t seen it. I never saw his work until I took a History of Photography class last year. I don’t think his rendision is necessarily better. I just think it is from different perspectives as parents. Your’s has the contemporary look of the kids with there back packs. His was in 1946 when children wore short pants and pinafore dresses. I think what you might find better is the nostalgia of the image. Your’s makes it more tangible and contemporary. Both are brilliant. Great minds and artists think alike no matter the time. By the way, I have seen his work before, and he was who I wrote my emulation paper and tried to base my photographic technique on for an assisgnment in Photography I class. I believe imitation is the highest form of flattery.
