As always very thought provoking and deep!

I feel very small, fretful and insignificant looking at this. I like the bright burst of light too, as if its aiding the lost, cut off feeling the child must have…..how unusual to have light as the isolator and not the saviour?
cdwork
Wonderful! For me the child walks with confidence! Although I love the feeling of a need for protection! As always superb use of light
Michael Oubridge
Stupendous Deb, a marvellous shot
Karin Taylor
it’s wonderful Deborah, the highlighting on the child is perfect, the eye is drawn right in…he looks tiny compared to the world around him! Splendid!
SylviaHardy
This is lovely Deborah. Small children always look lost amongst overgrown weeds to great effect. Love the monochrome too!
Kaylene B
superb!
StacyLee
I love the glow to this!!!
whitecrow
Great shot! You’re startin’ to creep me out though (that’s a good thing…).
Vedran Arnautovic
This has such a fairy tale feel to it – great image
Anita Charlton...
I like the curve of the path and how it is echoed in reverse in the sky. Everything is interesting and magical when you’re small.
Ken Mucke
OMG Deb…this one is really amazing…it looks like the woods have engulfed him in there….it really has a sense of urgency and desperation to it….you can smell and feel the intended fear….just brilliant…..the tones are just perfect too
Dreamcoat

Wonderful mood to this!
Stuart Chapman
Aaargh! Flasback to the weekend and many a moment lost in the maze at Leeds Castle (we never did find the middle for the 2nd visit now – it’s getting embarrasing and i’m sure there’s a secret trapdoor in the hedge somewhere)
Love it Deb. Does look like a natural maze of sorts with the confused feel after running down another dead end and the black outline adds to the sense of enclosure and claustrophobia. Yup, I do get Lost to as my one word instant summary (shortly followed by frustration as it’s clear a quick way out is sought very desperately).
Richard Veal
Superb work Deb. Particularly like that little patch of sunlight.
Deborah Parkin
Thank you everyone for your wonderful comments – I really appreciate them :)
Caroline Gorka
Certainly do like it Deb …he may be lost, but he’s being protected until he finds his way.
Rhana Griffin
Like it? LIKE IT???? I’m gonna come over there and smack your legs for not sharing it sooner!!!!!
Poor little lost lamb… I want to take Lambie’s hand and guide them to safety. Sadly, with my sense of direction I am just as likely to get us more lost!
funkyfacestudio

PhotogeniquE IPA
rather dark and ‘little boy lost’.
nodrogart
Deborah, I think this could be one of your best ever shots!
the lighting is exquisite, the defining areas of shadow play and show a darker side to this image which is given even more emphasis with the size of the child in the middle, their size, draws you deeper into the image and gives a tweak at the viewers more vulnerable side and starts to bring on a little panic,
BIG WELL DONE
Angelaka Black
Beautiful treatment!
Kitsmumma
This is so gorgeous Deb, the little person looks so tiny. Love the highlights in the flowers. Wonderful work, as always.

Basia McAuley
I’m sooo behind! This is beautiful Deb. I love it as with all your work. I find this image somewhat frightening from a parents perspective though, it reminds me of a lost child.
Martin Derksema
Love the treatment. So magical and strong. The light and absence of light play such an important role in this work. Yeah, we are so small and vulnerable compared to the forces of life that surround us. But there is a clear path. A picture with a happy ending.
Paul Tupman
Wow, what a fantastic magical image.. you conjoured up another brilliant atmosphere with this image.. so many stories to be drawn from this! Love the contrasts gain in this with the dark, dark surroundings and the brilliant highlights on the leaves.. great work!

Love the “enchanted forest” feel of this Deborah. The treatment really makes this image, with the light on the path and child, surrounded by darkness.
Martie Venter

Christopher E...

maka1967
