Just love it Deb…Such a feeling of desolation to these images of yours..But I just love them…

ktowers
has a great feel to it , excellent image
Dave Miller
a well known tree and you’ve managed to capture it in your own way, moving to the side adds the gritty rocks which add to the bleak feeling. ( I find the burnt in top corners a bit heavy ) – good work Deborah
alistair mcbride
Very striking image Deborah, beautiful tones and textures.
gladders
Yes it is…....................but very earthy too. I like the imposing foreground too. Makes you feel small and the tree seem much bigger.
gladders
And I think the burnt in corners are spot on!
David Parkin
I expect to see nothing but excellent photographs from you Deborah.
You always deliver.
Laurie McClave

Paul Tupman
Great strong shot… the composition of this is great with the stark silhouette of the tree framed between the 2 sloping sides.. I like how your vignetting mirrors these slope.. excellent B+W work as ever with some great contrasts and detail in the foreground. Excellent.

Bleak yet beautiful.
AndyReeve
Stnning and considering the landscape I would call it brave tree for growing there in the first place.
marshall calve...
hi Deborah a very gritty feel to this image makes this such a strong picture we know it well I would probably go a long with daves comments about the sky ,
Sycamore gap springs to mind if you need a name or is that a bit to abvious?
Martie Venter
Love lone-tree images – wonderful light, toning and foreground detail, love how the tree is framed by the curved horizon and the subtle vignetted corners above it!
cdwork
Beautiful! Great find and capture! It’s almost like the tree has hidden in the vally to allow it to grow! -Love it
berndt2
It’s the tree from the movie Robin Hood : Prince of Thieves, I think – I was there about a fortnight ago – very cool!

The cloud detail is beautiful and nicely frames the monument…..
Martin Derksema
Good art. Maybe ‘Bleak’ would be a good title? I love what you did with the stony landscape on the foreground. The texturing is just amazing. So rich. The angle is perfect and makes a hero of the tree. Lonely, but content with itself. A work with great tranquillity in it.
velveteagle
This looks like a working goal to me.. Very well done Deborah..
ECGardner
Bleak it is… This is gorgeous. Love the tones, textures, and especially the feel to it. Magical, as always.
Firedrake
It is very bleak…I like that the hill fades to black.
Rhana Griffin
I think you nailed the title Deb… I mean I can’t really see this being called “Sunshine” or Happy Days” or something similar (insert cheeky grin here) I love the curvature of the hills… its like they are protecting this lone survivor who is teetering on the edge of extinction.
PhotogeniquE IPA
bleak? just about right – excellent image
Joanne Bradley
Beautiful and poignant!
Ken Mucke
I just love your perspective here Deb…it really isolates the tree more…the tones of course are just perfect….as is the lighting….perfectly balanced throughout….Yuor magic really shines through here Deb….not many could have made this shot what it is…..BRAVO

Stunning (as always!) Deb – love how the foreground seems to play tricks with your eyes – I swear I can make out fine threads of a root system. Masterful!

Beautiful image Deborah… The title is perfect
Stuart Chapman
Okay, I eventually found this within a fortnight! It’s the scale that intrigues me on this Deb. One minute the tree seems to dominate the scene, the next it seems to blend back against those lovely shaped diagonal rocks.
You call it Bleak, I see Hope. Hope that life springs from adversity. It’s an interesting thing to do. Look at an image and say the first word that comes into your head. You would have nearly a different answer for each coment.
Alan Findlater
Really good work well done
Graham Dean
New and innovative art in this modern age, that an artist could only hope to be able to create.
shawhouse
I don’t get the title – What’s bleak about the miracle of a tree growing on the surface of the moon? :) Really wonderful treatment and the vignette at the top frames & balances the image, ages it and counters the hillside perfectly…some serious multi-tasking, wow…
Gerard Rijs
Bleak appears pretty accurate for a title to this one. Like the white in the rocks. Makes them look glassy and hard. Like it!
funkyfacestudio
Wow this is beautiful, love the framing too.
HotWetSandMob
Perfect, great work the vignette works well, well done
