Coffee, like love
Can be bitter and burning
Or rich and sweet
It quickens the beating of the heart
And warms the belly
The shoe box is open
The letters are scattered
Around the room
Were they lies,
Unknowingly written?
I am smooth, calm and cold inside
Look into my depths
And see your true reflection
My stony heart, hard and grey
Hides nothing
The snowfall coats the world
In a blanket of silent wonder
The ice covered branches
Rocking in a whispering breeze
Clinking together
With the sound
Of a thousand
Crystal champaign glasses
Headless bodies treading water
on the ceiling
thump thump thump
blood in my ears
geometric shapes
fly at my eyes
I flew on the wings of Cygnus to the stars
I gossiped with the Seven Sisters
I supped stardust from the Dipper
While discussing strategies with Orion
The marbles
So perfect
Round
Clear
Form little
Bright stars
In their
Shadows,
Through them
I see
The World
In a different light
Creeping slowly and silently n bare feet down the forest path. The dirty and pebbles clinging to the bottoms of my feet. Twigs and thorny branches reach out to scratch my legs.
