Hello and welcome.
I love to paint. This is my favorite thing to do. I pride myself in trying to achieve the greatest likeness I can as realism in my art is very important to me. I have been commissioned to do animal portraits, landscapes, birds of prey, and many other subjects over the years, including sculptures.
If you would like me to paint a portrait of your favorite cat or dog, a bird of prey or a landscape that you particularly love then please do contact me. I will be happy to discuss this with you. As I said, I specialize in realism so you can sure the painting will show the spirit of your beloved pet and will be as close to the original as possible.
I have used other mediums to portray my art, such as sculpting, pencil drawings and digital art. I like to work with the Photoshop and Xara for designing a particular piece also. As I add more to my portfolio you will see the diversity of my work as we go along.
I wanted to add this to give you an idea of how I prepare and finish a commissioned painting. First I prepare a panel by measuring it to the size commissioned, then I sand it and smooth the edges until I am satisfied. A layer of Gesso will be applied to the panel and after it has dried it will be sanded again. Then the second layer of Gesso and again, after drying, the panel will be sanded. I then apply two layers of paint for the background color and when I’m satisfied with the colors I will draw the portrait on the panel and a number of layers will be added giving more and more details and colors until I’m satisfied with the result.
I will then send you a picture of the painting so you can see for yourself how it looks and if you want any changes, I will do that then, because I want you to be 100 % satisfied too! When we’re both happy with it, I will sign it, of course, the edges will become a finish and then at least two layers of varnish will be applied, but often I’ll do three layers to seal and protect the whole painting.
This in short is what I have to do to produce a nice piece of art of which you will be proud to hang on your wall.
