Old and Rusty but Still Working! by Arie van der Wijst
Finished this painting today.
I think the painting speaks for itself……these old things have a history…it shows on every little bit of these objects. The metal, the rust and of course the old wood. I added the flowers as a tribute to all of these.
Acrylics on MDF, 40×50 cm, 16’’x20’’

A bit like me Arie :o) Still working but in need of a little bit of tender care…….like this wonderful door latch. I am amazed by this…..the wood on the door is real enough to touch! The colors are perfect in every way……I can feel the powdery rust coming off on my hand as I touch it…..the light in this painting is perfect too. I love the flowers…..what a great idea…..it adds a softness to the whole thing and makes it so interesting…..who put them there…..which leads to who is inside……it’s a spectacular painting and work of art my dear friend.
