Ricketts Glen State Park
Fairmount Township, Pennsylvania
Sunday, October 3rd, 2010
Had an interesting day at Ricketts Glen today.. ended up hiking the “loop” (and skipping the three lower falls: Harrison Wright, Sheldon Reynolds and Murray Reynolds – because of full sun and time_) Caught up with Lori Deiter and her neighbor on the Ganoga Glen trail. And hiked with Lori and Tim Devine on the Glen Lehigh and Highland trails (_only photographed Wyandot, B Reynolds and RB Ricketts Fall because of the sun)
The interesting part came after the Rickett Glen hike and on our way to visiting Sullivan Falls on State Game Lands 13. We tried the Jamison City Rd (just up from the Lake Jean entrance_), but the road had collapsed partially across making it impassible. So went down the mountain and up State Route 118 then turning off and going through Central and driving onto Sullivan Falls Rd (_which had a couple washed out sections that were down-right hairy). We arrived at our destination, but couldn’t stay long, because it was getting late and Tim still had a few hours to drive home.
Thanks to Evelina Kremsdorf for picking me up on her way to Ricketts Glen and Tim Devine for dropping me off on his way home – you guys rock.

Nice shot Aaron! I have a shot from almost the same spot. There’s a hotspot on the left side of the falls though, not sure I can recover it as well as how you’ve handled it here. I compared the shot of Oneida to the one I took last spring…really lets you see how crazy the water was there yesterday.
Thanks Tim!
You should try your hand at HDR/tonemapping sometime..
Yeah, I compared this shot to the one from August 21st and there is a striking difference!
