Orpheus is the sole survivor of his brood and, if that was not enough, his mother eventually abandoned him. He is made of stern stuff and promptly made friends with a brood of five ducklings whose mother subsequently “adopted” him. Despite being several weeks younger he is ever cheerful and more than capable of holding his own with his new siblings. Living at The University of York he is the campus’s youngest hatchling. If you haven’t guessed it his name is derived from him being an orphan.
