    Thanks Neil but what “tanks”?!

  • AARDVARK replied

    PS Thanks for the fave.

  • Woodie

    Woodie

You said you worked at Vickers in Leeds and Newcastle at one time, in a comment on a WW1 tank!
So I thought you may have some photos from work.
    Cheers Neil

  • AARDVARK replied

Yes I worked at VDSL but sorry no photos! The defence industry is very secretive (like Official Secrets Act!) so staff are not allowed to take cameras onto the premises, show up with one and it has to be left at the security gate. In my time you were not even allowed to plug your electronic organiser into your computer.

  • Woodie

    Woodie

It was the same in the RAF so any photos I have were taken secretly.(Just 2 taken by some one else) You could take as many as you like on B of B Open Day!!!LOL
    Cheers Neil

  • AARDVARK replied

Back in ‘74 (Long time ago!) I went to Farnborough when the USAF went public with the SR71. The cockpit windows and the engine intakes were all covered and there was a security cordon with “armed guards”.
