A Mallard Drake
This Mallard’s plumage is much darker than normal and such Mallards are often refered to as “Cayugas”. This is not stricly speaking correct since Cayugas are a distinct specie and, while similar to Mallards, have proportionally longer necks.

Thanks Tai. I spent an age following the fellow along Ouse Bank and took something like 60 photos to get this one, the little perisher would scarcely stand still!
