    Here our Coots , like most or all of our chicks, hatch in spring to early summer. The first Coots (this little guy was one of them) hatched in the second week of April.

    Thanks Krys, this little guy was one of six, amazingly five survived to adulthood. More amazingly last year the parents raised seven out of seven. They had built their nest in a very safe place.
