I love baby leaves, and I usually have to wait until early April to enjoy them, but the recent warm weather here in Massachusetts brought them out about two weeks early. These were the first leaves I photographed in my yard this spring!
Photographed with the Nikon 300S and Nikon 24-120mm zoom lens at 120mm, plus Canon 500D close-up filter.
They look like they’re bursting with life, excited to get the season started, so I gave them a bold treatment:
Layers of Topaz Simplify Watercolor and Topaz Detail Creative Detail Accent, a low-opacity Fractalius layer, and Nik Color Efex Pro 4 Darken/Lighten Center. Then I added the textures to the sky – Absinthe Vert and Evening Veil from Flypaper Textures.
