Lady’s Mantle foliage has so many interesting textures and shapes, and water droplets on them are especially delightful. I shot this one in my yard almost a month ago, and I cropped it to highlight the most interesting part of the leaf and the very cool droplet near the bottom.

Nikon D700 and Nikon 105mm f/2.8 micro lens.

I used Topaz Clarity to enhance the foliage detail, as well as Nik Color Efex Pro Contrast Color Range. Textures are Aventura and Solstice Puissance from French Kiss Textures.

I love the fuzziness and scalloped edges of these leaves, and the water drops are delightful! When I first saw this image, I immediately wondered if you had used Topaz Clarity, as I know you use the Topaz filters as much as I do. It’s another great tool, and I suspect it gave you an extra pop with the drops. Lovely work, Anita!

  • Thank you so much for your kind and insightful comments and the fave too, Celeste! You have an amazing eye and I’m not surprised that you could tell I used Topaz Clarity. I saw the webinar a few days ago and decided to give it a try and I really like the way it worked on this image.
