Little Mandarin

The name of the Mandarinfish comes from its extremely vivid colouration, evoking the robes of an Imperial Chinese mandarin.
This one is about 2.5cm long!
[True 1:1 Macro, taken with CANON 5D in Ikelite-Housing, SIGMA 105mm MACRO, 2 Ikelite DS125 strobes]

A macro underwater! Now that is a challenge and done very well.

  • aabzimaging replied

Cheers Adam! Yes, the are quite challenging in particular because they move fairly fast and it is quite hard to follow them with a bulky DSLR underwater housing and two strobes on arms attached in between the coral heads. But they are really fun to watch.
