I had this smokey image sitting on my hard drive, then one day it kinda hit me that I could see what appeared to be a demon with horns in the image. With a bit of playing around with colour, etc., I hope you can see the Nicotine Demon and my lungs in dark crimson being ripped back out from his chest cavity. This was how I pictured “Quit Smoking” and used it for a New Year’s Resolution competition! It didn’t win and I’m still smoking.
I see it Tony! Fabulous image the the monster that consumes! Excellent colors in it, beautiful perfect abstract!
Thanks Pamela! It’s funny what you can see in a bit of smoke, a bit like cloud watching – now there’s a job I wouldn’t mind getting paid for! *_:)_* Tony.
Wow, It’s a great image, Tony! I’m pretty sure you don’t know russian singer B Grebenshikov (well, now you can see him in London in Albert Hall more often than in Moscow) but it would be a great illustration to his song about ‘Angel Alcohol & Demon Nicotin’. Wow again. Cheers, A
Thanks Andrei! You’re right, I haven’t heard of him! Perhaps I ought to look him up! *_:)_* Tony.
Great image… beautiful work… seen trough the smoke from my cigarette :)
Hehe! I know the scene! Thanks ruxique! *_:)_* Tony.

I see the demon in there, I quit 20years ago, best thing I ever did, I still get sick from it though, we all have I dependencies, mine is red wine now most nights, lol, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
It is a bind Carlotta, but if the media is to be listened to it would seem that everything we eat drink or inhale these days is going to kill us somehow. I think the worry about what’s good and what’s bad for us is creating so much stress that there’s nothing left that’s good for us and even if it is the pressure we’re under wondering if it is good is enough to make it have adverse effects upon us. I miss the days when you could put whatever you liked into your own body and left the rest, without having to think about it! *_:)_* Tony.
My partner is currently using the new Champix prescription tablets.. have you heard about them? They’re quite new and I’ve heard nothing but positives about them. Luke has been smoking since 16 and was up to a pack a day basically. Since he started Champix I’ve seen him butt ciggies out half way down and he NEVER does that. Already just a week into it he’s down to about 6 a day… any day now he’ll be stopping altogether. He only noticed he felt a bit angry the first day of taking the pills but no more afterwards.
One thing I’ll say if you do Champix… make sure you finish the full 3 month prescription. I’ve heard a friend did it and gave up in the first month but then stopped taking the tablets and found themselves back smoking again.
If youre ready in spirit and mind… then Champix is worth a go.
Government aids the 1st prescription. Without it the prescription costs over $100. Your GP could tell you more. Just a thought..
Btw – wonderful photo.
Thanks Pip! I’ll get around to it one of these days. I’m still waiting for the news that they got it all wrong and cigarettes are good for you! I’ll make a note of the name of the drug, but I know (having stopped before for 4½ years) that it’s mostly down to will power. *_:)_* Tony.
