The Lartigue railway ran the 10 miles form Listowel to Ballybunion in Co. Kerry, Ireland. It was a monorail system that much has been written about on the internet. This shot shows the last remaining bridge over what was part of the Lartigue Railway line.

A photo which looks like a painting. Very dramatic colors with a slight touch of vintage.

  • Thank you for the comment! Tony.

Excellent work again Tony. HDR by the looks of things. I like the low angle of view you’ve chosen – it really does add a lot of atmosphere to the scene. Peter

  • Thanks Peter! Yes, HDR and a few other bits & pieces as always. I keep at it until I’m happy. Tony.

I truly love the way you put this image together Tony. It’s not just the perspective or the way you framed the shot, it is also in your ability to give this shot a historical nudge to remind us that this is a very old and remarkable place. Beautiful. 30 S.

  • Thanks Sandra, I was kind of looking for an old painted postcard look. So glad you like it. 30T

woooooooow Tony … after viewing your sale note, I had to come and see the original. This is a spectacular treatment from you of a truly beautiful and poignant place. Gorgeous, gorgeous late afternoon light … amazing clouds!!!!!! WOW!!! You find and photograph at the most incredible times!!!! LOVE it!!!!!

  • thanks Lois! Anytime is a good time to take photographs… except maybe that time I got locked in the coal cellar with no batteries for my flash!

It looks massive, this bridge, but when not looked after, everything will dissappear. Gives you a nice chance to take a gorgeous photo of it! Nice treatment as well Tony!

  • Thanks Arie! It may look big, but in fact it is probably only a ten foot span. Quite tiny as bridges go!

Yeah I know, but you made it look like ….enormous! And that’s the way it should be. Thanks Tony.
