Through The Pews
A look along the length of St Mary’s Church, Harrow on the Hill, Middlesex, England, from between the pews. As I took the shot a little church mouse popped out to see what I was up to, then scurried away just as quickly as he appeared.
Lanfranc, Archbishop of Canterbury, began the construction of a church on this site in 1087. The new church building was consecrated by the new Archbishop, St Anselm, on 4th.January 1094.

Thanks Michael! I tried to give it an old feel! If they had colour photos back in the 11th century, they might have looked a bit like this. that’s what I was trying for anyway!

Excellent work, where’s the lightening?
A90Six replied
Thanks Poll!
You must be referring to the lightweight aluminium tripod that I used, which is necessarily out of shot.
While the water in the font bubbled as I entered the building, I felt safe from any abrupt, discontinuous natural electric discharge in the atmosphere, as the spire sports a copper finial, adequately grounded, to protect the building from lightning strikes.

SPECTAC! now we know exactly what a church mouse sees! Cheers, S.

Thanks Sandra! No wonder those mice move so fast – they must be scared stiff living in such a spooky place.

He’s the baddie in Harry Potter although it maybe spelt wrong. You are never too old for Harry Potter! Really didn’t think they would be my cup of tea but had nothing to read in the house so read the first one and well there was no looking back! All seven books and enjoyed them all!

(I knew really, but don’t tell the boys down the pub, they’ll only poke fun at me!)
