St Andrews, Blagdon.
Featured in Streetscapes 7th December, 2008
The view of St Andrew’s Church from the roadway at Blagdon Lake. The Church has a 116-foot tower with pinnacles and a cusped lozenge pattern parapet, with a stair turret spirelet in the north-east corner. The tower was built between 1907 and 1909 by Lord Winterstoke (of the Wills tobacco family). The tower contains a bell dating from 1716 and made by Edward Bilbie of the Bilbie family. It is a Grade II listed building The lychgate to the east of the church is also a Grade II listed building in its own right. Above the door are four primitive Norman carvings which survived three rebuildings. The church is in Balgdon, Somerset, England.

My gosh. This is probably my favorite of all your photos. The perspective, the lighting and the impression of the church is excellent. It harkens to the French Impressionalist’s period.
A90Six replied
Ooh! Thank you so much izzybeth! Let’s hope the best is yet to come.

So beautiful Tony….I love the tones and vibe you have about your images…fantastic stuff! :0)

Thanks Shiree!
I get that effect by printing off my images (using cheap inks), putting them in a damp cardboard box and leaving them out in the garden for a couple of weeks to sweat. If the slugs don’t do too much damage, I rescan them and put them up here. I think you can make out the slug trail in the middle of the road in this shot, but I worked quite well so I kept it!
:) Tony.
Magicat
Ahh yes, I can see his slivery trail quite well…lol, nothing like truly organic process ;0)
A90Six replied
Organic is great, but it can be so sticky!

Tony … you have no idea … this is the kind of image that so many Americans hunger for and they don’t even realize it … a calling to us from our ancestors … magnificent!!!!! I really love your soft yet detailed treatment!!!!!
A90Six replied
I so wish they would hurry up and realise it and maybe buy a print!
Thanks so mush for all the comments!
:) Tony.

Its Beautiful and I live in a village up the road from Blagdon slightly nearer the county town of Somerset meaning Taunton. I will explore more instead of passing through and get some other views !
Your view has a lovely quality enhanced by the Autumn colours, well done.
