Hello everyone! I am a photographer and photo educator in Calgary, Canada. I teach photography part time at SAIT. I shoot all sorts of things for stock and assignment purposes and also shoot other artist’s work for their portfolios and online galleries.
I see Red Bubble as a way to develop my creative process and have fun with photography, as I can get too caught up in my commercial work, which has to cater to other people’s vision.
I tend produce realistic, non-manipulated photographs. I’ve tried HDR and even then I prefer “normal” tones, though I’m very impressed by others who produce illustrative effects using HDR processes. I do like to experiment with colour tone adjustments on occasion though, and I also like to combine different images together using various blending modes.
For my technical process, I shoot 100% raw images. I find that I can do all of what I need to do in the post processing of the raw files. The exceptions are when I need to close-cut objects from their background, or do skin smoothing on portraits where I’m adding adjustment layers, and using blending modes as described above. I use Adobe Camera Raw (ACR), and Capture One Pro for my post processing.

In case any art directors or photo editors are checking me out, all of these images can be licensed for commercial and editorial purposes. I sell Rights Managed and Royalty Free images through my PhotoShelter Stock Library.
