Gillian Berry

I’m a freelance photographer, as well as writing for a small local newspaper. I’m also a qualified makeup artist, with a Cert 2 in Make Up Artistry & a Diploma in Make Up for Film, Media & Theatre; with experience in evening & special occasion makeups, high fashion, stage production & film – including casualty effects.

I write, run & play dungeons & dragons (v.3.5), & the occasional story (with a novel in the works). I have 1 complete photo book, Life on the Lake , available through Blurb books & have another 3 in the works.

I’ve lived behind a lens now for 17 years & never leave the house without my camera. I was trained informally in the Kimberly region of Western Australia; starting with landscapes & portraits & now I specialise in Band & Event photography. That said however, my work includes much from Fine Art & Travel to Commercial advertising & Portrait/Glamour photography.

I’m a Pentax user, with a backpack full of lenses, filters and bits. The only thing more important to me than my camera is my passport…. & my cat….
As for the cat… she’s slightly psychotic, but highly lovable. She doesn’t pose all that often, though my best friend’s cat is not happy without me taking at least 1 shot of him whenever I visit.
