Profile

I got my first SLR in 1967, but had the basic Brownie, etc., long before that. I have very eclectic tastes in art, music and friends. I photograph anything that presents itself and if it doesn’t, I go looking for it. I live about 25 miles south of Tucson, Arizona, in Green Valley, a very active retirement community. I joined the Green Valley Camera Club (membership of about 850) about three years ago, when I retired. I now teach and facilitate activities for the club. Other instructors have taught me to enhance my photos with Photoshop Elements. I also enjoy creating slideshows of club and personal activities.

I use a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ 28 (18x zoom) as well as a DMC-FZ 50 (12x zoom). I prefer the FZ 50 for macros. No more messing around with heavy cameras and lenses any more. With a superzoom, I don’t have to worry about dust getting on the sensor in this desert area. I shoot RAW whenever I’m not shooting something moving quickly.
