Is this the end of the road for Main Drive, Kew ?

On the map it certainly is.

Sitting right on the border of Yarra Bend National Park, the State Heritage listed former Willsmere Asylum built in 1872, and Kew Cottages which opened outside the walls of the asylum in 1887 have never been far from the Victorian Parliament in Spring Street. However, few MP’s appear to have previously visited the Cottages.

Now that is about to change with the first Public Hearings of the Parliamentary Inquiry into Public Land due to start at Kew in September 2007.
