lunar imaging with a dslr and reflecting telescope

lunar imaging tips

thought i would do a tiny article on imaging since i had a mission trying to get various aspects right for producing a good lunar image!!

1:always remember when imaging the heavens that all atmospheric aspects change every time.

very important: focus has to be bang on , if the focus is wrong the image can never be put right!!
iso speed should be no more than iso 200
exposure length should vary with conditions/telescope size/lunar phase
best to stick to under a second , i find 1/50th—-1/250th secs to be adequate
make sure you preview the image to make sure it is dimmer than required as an over exposed image is impossible to pull back in processing

hope this gives a basic idea to the dark art
