Boeing B17 Flying Fortress was a four engined bomber developed in the 1930’s. Most were stationed in the UK during the Second World War, serving with the United States Army Air Force.

B17’s were primarily employed in daylight precision raids on German military and industrial installations. They were named Flying Fortresses because of their impressive defensive firepower.
