Spinosaurus

Spinosaurus was the longest carnivorous dinosaur to have lived, but not as stocky as T-Rex or Giganotosaurus. It ate mainly fish but would also have had the occasional dinosaur for a change.

It lived in the late Cretaceous period around the time that dinosaurs started to become extinct.

The huge sail on its back was probably for regulating body heat, keeping it cool in the midday sun and allowing it to warm up quickly in the mornings. It may also have played a part in mating rituals.

Steven Spielberg tipped his hat to this monster by giving it a starring role in the Jurassic Park III movie.
