I visioned us
Running through a whimsical forest
Of purple trees
And yellow leaves
I saw glimpses of your form
Dancing, angelically
You looked like an acrobat
Playing with my senses
Twisting and turning, weaving between trees
Our eyes meeting and feeding my soul
I chased you to every corner
And we waged silent bets with our hearts
You’re an animal
I’m an animal inside
You’re never satisfied
And I eat people
At least that’s what we tell people
As we return home
To our individual hedges
Cuts, scrapes and all hanging pieces of flesh
Adorning our exterior
Love bites
So much adrenaline, pumping and pumping
And the pain of all of this is ridiculous
But you’ve got me coming back
Time and time again
Hormones leaving a trail and I never stop fighting you
Until we meet at a predestined crossroads
And we run at each other, fire for fire
And I finally feel like you’re chasing me as well
We’re fighting
Then we’re fighting
Biting, scratching, kicking and shouting
Not even words
Just carnal, barbaric growls and hisses
We’re very odd
Very odd and trailing blood throughout this purple forest
Seen by nature activists and hunted
Hunted by one another
