It's Not Over

Everything is good when you’re drunk
You smile at your shortcomings
You repair your smile with more spice rum
You open your heart and your legs
To the wafting comfort and quiet of fentanyl
And the blazing heat of molly
Not the lyrical sweat
But the tender, rashy, suffocating sweat
Eyelashes four foot long melt away in a stranger’s pillow case
And you question, are you still as beautiful?

You’re the biggest display of bigotry
The finest example of moronic
The sweetest perspective of paradise
And it’s all wonderful, and great, and rare

Whoever is in the most control takes you far away
He’s on top, and not because he is less drunk
More in-touch, more stable
Because he is bigger than you
His kisses bring the rage in your insides to the surface of your skin
You say no initially but that facade departs
You’re just a bit insecure because you haven’t showered in a few hours
And you want to impress so desperately
But you have no control
And he has all the control
You say no, he says yes, you say later, he says now
And he’s perfect so you lay there and allow it
Allow him to force himself into you wildly
Not caring to please you or last any amount of time

He finishes right away
Before muttering how sober he’s becoming
And you lay there
Your senses decaying by the second
You’re pleased, pleased
That’s all that matters
The drugs fester away in your stomach
You did so much
And the night fades to black

Morning comes as it was already there
You open your eyes, one single movement
Not like the movies, there’s no struggle to wake
He’s still next to you
You want to smile with thoughts that this is permanent
He receives your love and returns it, in your own mind
Now head pounding, stomach turning
Cellphone devoid of any calls, turned to silent
You can’t wake him, no no
Then he’ll want you to leave
You’re just happy sleeping next to him
That’s enough
The pressure behind young eyes is imperfect and annoying
The movements in your stomach disturb you
But you swallow and breathe
In and out, in and out, in and out
You lived another day
And it’s still not over
