In June of 2004 the Clifton Heritage Authority was established by an act of Parliament and given the responsibility of managing and preserving the area now known as Clifton Heritage National Park.
Clifton Heritage National Park has the distinction of being the only national park in the Bahamas where the historical and cultural legacy of three distinct civilizations, that of the Lucayans, the Loyalists and the Africans meet.
It will also go down in history as one of the sites that galvanized Bahamians from all walks of life in the famous “Fight to Save Clifton”.
