Facebook Poem

As they lay beneath the stars,
the children seemed
like glasses are.

Transparent to a flaw,
hiding nothing,
showing more.

Both begin full as can be,
but slowly drained,
by maturity’s fee.

Drained of dreams,
of hopes and wonder,

til an empty shell they seem.

Artist's Description

This isn’t a poem about Facebook, but it is one I wrote on Facebook, in the comments of someone’s status. I think I was challenged to compare babies to glasses. Or something.
Anyway, I don’t mind it, even if it is a bit pessimistic.
