I have never been able to articulate a reason…but there is something about that particular item of undergarment that is moving. Perhaps it is just the state of semi-undress, or that it is something that is particular to all women (or most). Seeing it in portrait is an allowance perhaps, into a privacy of herself. In all honesty, I’m not sure of the blue tone. But the pose is quite lovely. She is generous to the vision of art. I applaud her.
thanks for the thoughtful comment ken… I played with this for awhile. The b&w is great, but I guess my affinity for color (in a duo tone) overrode my love of b&w in portraiture.
