But this time the car won’t start
So I tried to get on the bus
Only to see it drive straight past
Nearly taking me out on the way.
Then I walked to the train station
Just to find out they’re having another strike
So what do I do,
I sit on the bench and panic for a while
A taxi drives buy
I leap up from the bench and run like a man possessed
I wave my hands like an ape in heat
He pulls over eventually and I finally get in.
On my way to work now in the back the cab
Only 20 minutes late so far
This traffic is driving my patience to a stand still
But before I knew it I was there
FUCK … I left my bloody wallet at home
I looked at the cabbie in way he’s seen before
And turns quickly to collect my money but he’s too late
All he saw was an empty seat
And my back drowned in a sea of people never to return
All I could hear was the screams of another rort.
I finally get hear just to be hurried into the bosses office
for the last time it seems
FIRED … all that fucking effort just to get fired
I packed my things into a box
and got kindly escorted out of the building
with a taxi waiting as a courteous gesture
NO … I just got into the same taxi I rorted half an hour ago
I looked in the rear view mirror to see the cabbies eyes light up with excitement
Then suddenly the door locks
