Old dilapidated barn with rustic red doors. This old barn will be torn down sometime this month. Someone in the neighborhood complained that it was an “eye sore”.... so sad!

Eyesore, my foot! This is like fine wine that has aged beautifully. I’m glad you got a shot of it before it’s torn down, Maria. And Kimmie, you gave the old barn a grand way to go out in style!

    Maria,
Beautiful old barn. It’s a shame buildings like this are torn down. Wouldn’t it be a wonderful to know the history of the barn.

Excellent capture! It’s not an eye sore at all – old barns have a beauty all their own. So glad you capture it before it was gone!

Awesome Barn! And a wonderful picture. That busy-body neighbor out to be forced to move to town—my worst nightmare! This lovely pic would probably be welcomed by the Windows and Doors group.

A beautiful photograph, so typical American in all ways. Happy 4th to you. If this was in central Victoria, Australia, where we live, they would put a preservation order on it before you could blink.Regards, Heather

just gorgeous!!!! I’m so sorry it’ll be torn down … sigh … but how wonderful that you captured its beauty before it’s gone forever!!

  • Maria Dryfhout replied

The barn was burned down last week. Pieces of wood were removed before it was destroyed, and an 18X24 frame was made for this photograph…. so sad! Photographs are so important for us to remember the way life once was….
