The base image in this study of vintaging techniques on adobe photoshop CS4 I captured over the summer of ‘09 at the public boat landing on Hunting Island, SC. I combined it with a photograph of some very fine gold fleck parchment paper that was of thick fibers. I taped this paper to a window lit by morning sun and photographed it there. In photoshop I brought the shot of the paper i as a new layer on top of the back ground layer of the scene from the boat landing and used the layer blend option? multiply then adjusted the opacity. I also experimented with the custom brush settings. I tooled around with the scatter options in one of the menus on the brushes window. I fell in love with the results wich produed an effect that looked like tiny little stars. I also added some faint ’scratches’ with a brush that I adjusted the shape of. I painted the scratches in a new layer and blended them to the back ground by using the hard light button in the layer options menuand then adjusted the opacity of this layer. Please for give me if I am in error for not using the formal names of these tools and features in CS4. I have been enjoying making images with a vintage look.
