Bird-of-prey = raptor, same (in English) root word as “rapture”. Imagine a small mouse foraging in a small field. Suddenly, a shadow and piercing talons. Alive but in shock, he is carried up, seeing his little home fall away beneath. He is flying, but not by his own effort until he’s dropped into the aerie. The last thing he sees are the fledglings tearing apart his little body, swallowing whole the bits. Not sure what that has to do with your meaning, just a response (memory) triggered by your rapturous image.
