1. Our aim is to display only the best examples of People and Portraiture Photography.
2. Please submit only your two best images. This is for the members’ benefits, as this group serves to showcase your artistic talent and inspire others. It’s about quality, not quantity.
3. Please submit only original work.
4. Photos can be enhanced via Photoshop and/or other editing software, providing the image does not lose photographic direction.
5. Photos should be easily recognizable as portraits, and care should be taken in deciding whether or not your photo would be better fitted to one of the other RB groups. For example: Bridal portraits belong in ‘The Wedding Inspiration Group,’ nudes belong in ‘Art of Erotic Visions’ or ‘The Artistic Nude’ (implied nudes may be submitted at the moderators’ discretion), extreme close-ups of eyes belong in ‘The Eyes Have It,’ and so on. This, too, is for the members’ benefits. It is our hope that proper categorization will ensure that pieces are reaching their intended audiences, and will therefore help the artists gain exposure.
6. When submitting work, please consider the following criteria:
- Portraits are generally regarded as images in which a subject’s face is visible, at least partially.
- The person(s) being photographed should be the main subject of focus, and should take up a good portion of the composition. Please do not submit landscapes that have tiny people in the corner. Such photos are better suited to groups like ‘Human and Nature’ or ‘Landscape Photography’ (see rule #5).
- Quality photos are generally in-focus and properly exposed.
7. Work may be removed if it does not comply with or meet the standards of this group.
