The same girl as in In a Dream World
I took this picture in the bus that was taking me from Jujuy ( north of Argentina ) to La Quiaca, at the border with Bolivia ! This child was sitting just next to me. / Loved the way his father was looking after him, although he fell asleep more than once leaving the little child curiously looking around when at some point he stared at me for so long that I had the time to get my camera and take this picture !

I’ve been playing around with my off camera flash’s again and come up with this self portrait. I originally thought I’d call it “The Thug” but the general consensus from other’s who’ve seen it is that its more rock Star or Roadie so I’m going with Roadie. “Iron is full of impurities that weaken it. Through forging, it becomes steel and can be transformed into a razor-sharp sword – human beings develop in the same fashion”. / Morihei Ueshiba —-—-—-—-—-—-— My main goal for this shoot was to portray strength. Upon thinking on it, I guess strength comes in 2 forms, external and internal. I think many of us spend our life dedicated to the pursuit of the external type. This type of external strength is based on validation from others. The internal strength only requires one main element and that is to believe in oneself. / With internal strength competition becomes irrelevant. It is not defined by gender or limited by age. It does however require us to let go of fear & inhabitations and to trust. True strength doesn’t require validation or proof. It only requires belief in one’s self. I find portrait photography and interacting with the subject quite difficult, yet I find I learn so much from the process about others and ultimately myself. Although, the more I do it, I seem to acquire more questions rather than answers. I guess it’s important to enjoy the process of discovery and not worry on finding the actual answers. Hopefully that will eventually happen of its own accord. I’d like to thank Shelle for her enthusiasm, time and input. Also thanks to Tony Ryan for the use of his studio.
Alexya, going on a photoshoot with me. FEATURED in PEOPLE AND PORTRAITURE PHOTOGRAPHY !

Collaborating with Brisbane Punk Band PUNXIE AND THE POISON PENS Here we see the 6’2” Very Blond Punxie Poison with lovely feather eyelashes, which depending on the pose and mood came over contrastingly lovely but intense with the attitude added… hmmm, feather eyelashes…. :-) These images are the original processing from the raw images… Once I have a awesome set of portraits from all the band, I will artwork them all together to make a dramatic and marketable representation … It’s hoped that the band can use all this stuff for their marketing and online activities, plus their album artwork and whatever else… Model: Punxie Poison / Photography and Art Direction: Kathleen
