Marie Magnusson

PROFILE:

I am doing my PhD in environmental chemistry/biology. When I can make the time I love to paint, it’s great mental relief and I think my partner would say it makes me a nicer person to live with too. My medium of choice is generally oil paints, but after spending hours and hours browsing Red Bubble (it is seriously addictive!) and seeing the stunning art people create with Photoshop and the like, I have just recently started playing with Photoshop myself.

Marie’s paintings show a definite style, she seems to be inspired by the human in it’s environment and her images create a telling story. Her work is painterly and her use of dripping and hand printing adds a unique dimension to her work.

She also uses photoshop to convey her message about man and his environment.
