Susan Grissom

PROFILE:

I am a Abstract Painter who also dabbles in Mixed Media, Collage,Digital Photography and Digital Art, pastels and landscapes. In my other life I am a Decorative Painter of Interiors and Furniture.

In the 1980’s I was part of a team that worked on the Architectural Restoration on some of the 9th Century Architecture in Siena Italy on the Spannocchia Estate and headquarters of The Etrucscan Foundationa and Museum.
I have loved working with aging and patina effects ever since and it shows up in all my work.

Susan’s Abstract Paintings capture a very earthy and texural feeling. She loves layering colours collage and other media. She has been strongly influenced by her work in Italy and it flows through to her work. She will often use text in her images which successfully adds extra dimension to her work. Susan’s Portfolio also includes Monotype Printmaking, this medium illustrates her sponteniaty and skill in creating great compositions.
