In the Artist’s Words

Raised in small Victorian Town and educated in Melbourne. Limited formal art education. Work primarily with oil paint and pastels and interested in narrative, representational works. Try to capture everyday, mundane ordinary events and reveal to the viewer, something new, interesting and a little bit fun.

In my Words

Kimbaross’ portofolio is full of colour and a style which reminds me of the great Australian Painter’s Charles Blackman and Robert Dickerson. The theme of Alice in Wonderland is recurring in Kimbaross’ work and always seems to be exciting and fresh. His portrayal of the ‘Australian lifestyle’ is quintessential and makes the everyday seem rich in colour and imagery. In my opinion his work should stand alongside the great painters of contemporary Australia.
