Flowers have an expression of countenance as much as men or animals. Some seem to smile; some have a sad expression; some are pensive and diffident; others again are plain, honest and upright, like the broad-faced sunflower and the hollyhock. ~Henry Ward Beecher, Star Papers: A Discourse of Flowers Day Lilies are among the star performers in the garden! This is my interpretation of the first chorus of Procession (see below)...I painted it in a very linear style of the lyrics, using colours for skies and sea that reflect the searing heat of the sun… / If you are familiar with the song you know that this is the fabulous Moody Blues at their best…the song is called “One More Time to Live” and “Procession” is the chorus which is sometimes sung separately…. in it the singer broods over the changes in the world and how time has destroyed so much…”one more time to live and I have made it mine, leave the wise to write for they write worldly rhymes, and he who wants to fight, begins the end of time, but in the end he says “I have riches more than these”...something we all have to remember... Watercolour on Arches Not Paper Desolation / Creation / Evolution / Pollution / Saturation / Population / Annihilation 1st chorus of “One More time to Live..The Procession…Moody Blues” LISTEN TO THE MUSIC / We Know Nothing / White Heat / Turmoil
